Business. Society. Clean Sea.
We believe modern businesses must create not only commercial value but meaningful social impact. Our sea feeds us — and we give back.
Chornomorka is a Ukrainian restaurant chain founded in 2013 that has steadily grown into an international brand, bringing together dozens of locations across Ukraine and Europe.
Our business is closely connected to the sea. We recognize our responsibility to help preserve it for future generations.
Founded in 2013, Chornomorka built a strong and recognizable brand with dozens of locations across the country.
Expanding across the EU with a sustainable, dynamic business model and high operational excellence standards.
Chornomorka is growing across Europe — bringing the culture of the sea and responsibility for it everywhere we go.
Our Team
In Mykolaivka, there once existed a very special format that many guests still remember. It was not just a place to rest — it was a genuine experience, a deep immersion into the atmosphere of the sea and Black Sea cuisine. Lots of interaction, live communication, and sincere emotions — exactly what created that unique atmosphere. Sadly, the project is now closed. But we are determined to recreate this experience at our farm — with the same soul, flavour, and feeling.
Facts & Figures
The volume of plastic pollution in the oceans continues to grow every year, posing a serious threat to life on Earth.
Polluted coastlines lose their tourist appeal and economic value for local communities.
Microplastics are already affecting human health through food chains and drinking water.
Marine animals die after becoming entangled in plastic or mistaking it for food.
Environmental responsibility has become a necessary standard for modern business.
We are taking action now because our business is directly connected to the sea.
Our Mission
Our mission is to contribute to the preservation of marine ecosystems by bringing together business, society, and culture around the idea of a clean sea.
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
Our Vision
We see a world where clean waters, healthy ecosystems and a responsible attitude to nature are an integral part of society's life.
A world where every person, community, business and state recognises its responsibility for protecting the environment and acts together for a sustainable future.
Our Principles
Four directions that guide everything we do — showing what we do, the tools we use, and the result we create.
We preserve marine ecosystems, clean coastlines from pollution and cultivate a responsible attitude to the sea.
Eco actions and cleanups, volunteer initiatives, educational events, partnerships with communities and business, collecting and analysing data on results.
Cleaner coastlines, less waste in nature, more people involved in environmental action and a culture of responsibility towards the sea.
We openly report on our work, projects, partnerships, resources raised and results.
Public reports, open data on completed projects, communication on the website and social media, transparent rules for decision-making and use of funds.
The trust of our members, volunteers, partners, donors and the public.
We take responsibility for our decisions, the use of resources and the results of our projects.
Planning and monitoring of indicators, financial and programme reporting, results assessment, internal control and feedback mechanisms.
The measurable impact of our projects, responsible use of resources, and a clear understanding of what has changed thanks to the work of Clean Sea.
We bring together people, volunteers, communities, business, organisations and donors around a shared goal — protecting the marine environment.
Joint environmental projects, volunteer initiatives, partnership programmes, educational events, grant projects and cross-sector cooperation.
Larger-scale environmental initiatives, additional resources and people, stronger local communities, and long-term impact that cannot be achieved alone.

Who We Serve
We bring together people, communities and organisations that want to protect aquatic ecosystems, raise environmental awareness and implement sustainable conservation solutions.
We work with local communities, supporting them in launching environmental initiatives, developing civic participation and building a responsible attitude to natural resources.
We involve schoolchildren, students, teachers and youth organisations in environmental education, volunteering and hands-on conservation activities.
We build partnerships with civic associations, volunteer communities and specialised organisations to run joint environmental projects. Our partners include NGOs protecting water resources, among them the Anglers' Club of Ukraine.
We cooperate with businesses, local self-government bodies, state institutions and international organisations to implement sustainable solutions, develop cross-sector partnerships and attract resources for conservation projects.
Governance
Transparent governance on three levels — from the general assembly to the day-to-day work of the executive team.
The highest governing body. It sets the strategy, makes key decisions and elects the Board.
Runs the organisation between assemblies, approves plans and oversees their delivery.
Delivers projects day to day, coordinates volunteers and partnerships, and reports to the Board.
Overall operational management of the NGO, strategy delivery, team coordination, partnerships, and liaison with the Board and donors.
Developing and delivering environmental programmes and projects, coordinating events, working with volunteers and communities, monitoring results and programme reporting.
Budgeting, financial control, payments, procurement, contracts, administrative processes and financial reporting.
The NGO's communications, website and social media, grant search, grant applications, work with donors and partners, and public reporting of results.
